Merica earned her bachelor’s degree from Smith College, one of the Seven Sisters, in Northampton, Massachusetts. Merica graduated from Michigan State University College of Law in 2007, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medicine and Law, and received the American Jurisprudence Award for her coursework in White Collar Crime. Post-graduation, Merica joined JP Morgan Chase in New York City, where she was assigned to track trades and manage risk for the Non-Dollar Currency Trading Group. She left JP Morgan in 2009, giving up the hustle and bustle of city life for the gorgeous scenery of West Michigan. A former partner at Westshore Law in Muskegon, Merica started her solo practice in November of 2014. Merica focuses her practice on estate planning, real estate law and business law.
She is a member of the Michigan State Bar Association, the Smith College Alumni Association, and the Michigan State University College of Law Alumni Association.
Outside of the practice of law, Merica lives in North Muskegon with her husband Eric, and their daughter Margaret. She and her husband are active volunteers with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Michigan Irish Music Festival, Harbor Hospice, and many other organizations in Muskegon. Merica and her family enjoy golfing at White Lake Golf Club as weather and time permits!
